The Environmental Program Setup wizard walks users through 11 different EPA Agency Requirements covering Reporting, Monitoring, Registration, Permitting, and Training. Once Programs are complete, critical Recurring Dates and Reminders are added to the Compliance Calendar. Each Location has its own Program.
When to Use This Article
- A customer needs help setting up Environmental Programs for one or more Locations.
- A customer asks how to copy Environmental Programs from one Location to another.
- A customer wants to understand what the Program wizard does and how the status tracking works.
- A customer asks about recurring dates and reminders generated by the Environmental Programs feature.
Steps to Follow
- Click Add Program to begin setting up a new Environmental Program.
- Select the Location and then select each of the Programs needed for that Location. Click Save: Environmental Profile.
- Complete each Program wizard. Each wizard walks through the requirements for the selected EPA Programs. Some programs are short; others are longer.
- Note: Creating a Program requires input of dates and historical activities. You can stop and save throughout the setup.
- Monitor the Status display to see which programs are complete, in progress, or not started.
- Each Program wizard captures Due Dates for upcoming action items. Once complete, critical Due Dates and Reminders are added to the Compliance Calendar Task feature and generate Alerts ahead of the Due Date (most are 30 days ahead). Each wizard indicates its steps so you always know your progress.
- Once the Program is complete, review the summary of all selections and upcoming tasks. You can go back and update the Program if a Location's Environmental Requirements change. The Program setup generates recurring tasks into the future.
- For multiple Locations, use the Copy Environmental Programs option instead of selecting a Location. Select the Locations to copy from and to copy to.
What Not to Do / Common Pitfalls
- Do not skip entering historical dates and activities during the wizard — this information drives accurate Due Dates and Reminders on the Compliance Calendar.
- Do not forget that each Location must have its own Program. If multiple Locations have the same requirements, use the Copy function rather than manually re-entering.
- Do not assume changing a Program retroactively updates past tasks — changes apply going forward.
