Download the Encompass ELD Application (Driver Guide)

Purpose

This article provides instructions for downloading and installing the Encompass® ELD mobile application on Android™ and iPhone®/iPad® devices. It also includes information about expected data usage by driver profile type.

 

When to Use This Article

• A driver needs to install the Encompass ELD app on a new device.
• A driver or administrator wants to understand how much mobile data the ELD app uses.
• A support agent is guiding a driver through the initial app installation.

Data Usage Information

Average monthly data usage varies by driver profile:

• Advanced Driver — Approximately 30MB per month
• Premium ELD — Approximately 75MB per month

These numbers may fluctuate based on:

• How often the app is used (daily, etc.)
• How many drivers use the app on a given device
• Whether fuel tax features are enabled
• Whether GPS tracking is enabled

Steps to Follow

Install on Android™

1. Tap the Google Play Store icon.

   

2. In the search bar, type Encompass. Tap the Encompass® ELD app in the search results.

   

3. Tap Install and Accept any terms and conditions.

   

4. Once downloaded, tap Open to launch the app.

   

Install on iPhone®/iPad®

1. Tap the App Store icon.

   

2. Select Search in the lower right corner. Type Encompass ELD in the search bar.

   

3. Locate the ELD application and tap Get.

   

4. Once downloaded, tap Open to launch the app.

   

What Not to Do / Common Pitfalls

• Do not download the app from unofficial sources. Only use the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
• Do not confuse the Encompass® ELD app with other Encompass or J. J. Keller apps in the store. Verify you are downloading the correct one.
• Ensure the device has sufficient storage space before attempting to install.
• If the device is company-managed and the app store is restricted, contact your company IT department or Administrator for installation.
