Purpose
This article provides guidance on handling concurrent State Leave Requests in Leave Manager, as some states allow multiple programs to run simultaneously. The process involves creating 2 separate cases: 1 for the first State Program (including any concurrent Federal Leave if applicable) and another for the second State Program without Federal Leave Reasons or Hours. Users should process each case normally and ensure that any changes to Leave Dates are updated in both cases. This workaround ensures accurate tracking of overlapping State Leave Requests.
When to Use This Article
Use this article when:
- An employee qualifies for leave under two state programs at the same time
- One or both state programs also run concurrently with Federal Leave
- You need to accurately track overlapping state leave requests
Steps to Follow
Step 1:
Create Case 1 for the first state program and, if concurrent with Federal, add in the Federal leave reason. Process the leave request as usual.

Step 2:
Create Case 2 for the second state program, but do not include the Federal leave reasons or hours.

Note: If leave dates change they will need to be updated in both leave cases
