Purpose
This article explains how to configure and share the SDS Center in Safety Management Suite, which allows employees who are not SMS users to view Safety Data Sheets already loaded in the system via a URL or QR code.
When to Use This Article
- A customer wants to give non-SMS employees access to view Safety Data Sheets.
- A customer needs to generate a URL or QR code for the SDS Center.
- A customer wants to customize the SDS Center landing page or filter it by location.
Steps to Follow
Expand Chemicals from the left side menu and select SDS Center.
On the SDS Center page, configure the following options:
- Customize Text: Edit the text at the top of the page to provide helpful information (e.g., emergency contact information, who to contact with questions).
- Select Location: Use the dropdown to filter safety data sheets for a specific location. When you switch Locations, the URL/QR code and Customized Text also change. Click the "x" in the dropdown to return to All Locations.
- SDS Center Employee Access URL: This is the link employees/non-SMS users need to access the feature. Publish it to an intranet site, save as a desktop shortcut, etc.
- Copy URL to Clipboard: Click this button to copy the URL for pasting wherever needed.
Scan QR Code: Click this button to generate a QR code. You can copy/paste it or download it as an image.
- SDS Grid: The grid shows any SDS marked as Include in Binder with active company usage defined.
Share the URL or QR code with employees. Once a non-user accesses the provided URL, they will see the customized SDS Center page.

***If this section states, "There are no Safety Data Sheets available. If you have Safety Data Sheets tied to your chemical products, you may not have company usage defined, or company usage has expired. Navigate to your Product List and add Safety Data Sheets or define company usage for your products."
Create QR code
- Login to SMS and click on the SDS Center
- Copy the SDS Center URL that is on the page
