Use the Map Legend in Encompass

Purpose

This article explains how to use the Map Legend in the Encompass Live Map to control which items are displayed, including ELDs, Vehicle Tracking Units, Geo-fences, Landmarks, Traffic, Traffic Cameras, and Weather.

When to Use This Article

• You want to show or hide specific items on the Live Map (ELDs, Vehicle Tracking, Geo-fences, Landmarks).
• You have questions on how to view traffic conditions, traffic cameras, or weather on the map.
• You need to understand the tracking status icons in the Map Legend.

Steps to Follow

1. Open the Map Legend. Click the map icon to open the Map Legend panel.

2. Review Tracking Status. The Tracking Status section shows current engine information for tracked vehicles.

3. Show or hide map items. Click on any display option (e.g., Display ELDs) to toggle it. A strikethrough indicates the item is hidden. Click again to show it.
   • Display ELDs — Show/hide ELD devices on the map.
   • Display Vehicle Tracking — Show/hide Vehicle Tracking units.
   • Display Geo-fences — Show/hide geo-fences (blue circles).
   • Display Landmarks — Show/hide landmarks (orange circles). Click a landmark for more details.

4. Enable Traffic and Traffic Cameras. Toggle Display Traffic and Display Traffic Cameras to see traffic conditions and camera indicators. Zooming in reveals additional cameras.

Note: If you don't see traffic information, zoom in on the map further.

5. Enable Weather. Toggle Display Weather to see weather conditions across the map.

What Not to Do / Common Pitfalls

• Do not forget that traffic information requires zooming in — it may not appear at wider zoom levels.
• Do not confuse Geo-fences (blue circles) with Landmarks (orange circles).
