Steps to Follow
Direct the customer to the appropriate section based on their question:
System Setup
- Getting started with system setup: See Getting Started Guide.
- Adding employees: Employees can be added manually, imported in bulk, or connected via HRIS integration:
- Adding locations: See Adding Company Locations and Setting Up Leave Parameters.
- Forgot username or password: Click the "Forgot?" link on the login page and follow the prompts to receive the username by email or reset the password.
General
- Dashboard overview: The dashboard provides news, popular articles, critical leave information, and real-time metrics. See Leave Manager Dashboard.
- "Demo" in Scheduled Leave section: If no data is available or nothing is scheduled for the next three weeks, the table shows a "Demo" view as an example.
- Permissions/Group feature: Allows grouping accounts with an administrator who can grant specific, location-based permissions to each member. Each member needs their own paid subscription. See Manage Permissions/Groups.
- Making employees inactive: Employees tied to records cannot be deleted, but they can be made Inactive. See Managing Employees.
Leave and FMLA Questions
- General FMLA and leave FAQ: See FMLA & General Leave FAQ.
- Entering a leave request: Go to the Leave Requests tab, click +New Leave Request, and follow the six-step on-screen process. See Adding a Leave Request.
- Projecting available leave: Go to the Reports tab to use the Project Available Leave feature. See Project Available Leave.
- Printing FMLA forms: Open the Leave Request/case, navigate to the Forms tab, and generate the needed forms.
Employee Center
- What is the Employee Center: Allows employees to securely log in and complete leave-related tasks while the administrator retains oversight.
-
Creating an Employee Center account: The employee must have an email address in Leave Manager and a status of "active." Share the web link and company code with them.
- Admins: Set Up Employee Center
- Employees: Create Employee Center Account
What Not to Do / Common Pitfalls
- Do not try to delete employees who are tied to leave records -- make them Inactive instead.
- Do not overlook that each Permissions/Group member needs their own paid subscription.
- Do not forget that the Employee Center requires the employee to have an email address and active status in the system before they can create an account.
