Purpose
This article explains how to view and monitor Driver Hours using the Encompass® ELD Hours Available view. Administrators can access this by navigating to Drivers > Hours of Service and selecting the Hours Available tab. This view updates once per hour from the mobile application, and it reflects Violations immediately if the Driver goes into a HOS Violation (provided there is network connectivity). It helps track a Driver’s location, dispatch availability, and remaining hours in the day or week.
When to Use This Article
- A customer needs to check a driver's remaining available hours for driving, daily on-duty, or weekly on-duty.
- A customer wants to track driver location and dispatch availability.
- A customer asks why a driver is not showing up on the Hours Available list.
- A customer wants to export hours available data to Excel.

Click on a Driver Name to view their log records and hours details.
Export Hours Available to Excel
-
Click Export to Excel at the top of the table to download a snapshot.
NOTE: You must be configured with ELDs to see this view.
What Not to Do / Common Pitfalls
- Do not rely on the Hours Available view for real-time data -- it updates once per hour (unless a violation triggers an immediate update).
- Do not assume a missing driver means they are not on the road -- they may lack internet connectivity or may not be logged into the ELD.
- Do not confuse "Hrs. Available" with "Driving Hours Available" -- Hrs. Available is the lowest of driving, daily, and weekly hours.
Escalation Path
- If a driver's hours are not updating despite being logged in and connected, verify internet connectivity on the driver's device. If connectivity is confirmed, contact J. J. Keller support.
- If the Hours Available tab is not visible, confirm the account is configured with ELDs.
